DIY a Thanksgiving Centrepiece with Me

Thanksgiving is upon us and I have made the perfect hanging centrepiece for my tablescape and using paper bags! They’re back but in a whole new way.

📢 ⚠️ Remember, safety first! If you’re installing this over your dining table and lighting candles underneath- I read that you need a 3 foot clearance between an open flame and any object above it! You can always use battery operated tapered candles 🕯️ as well!

This DIY was inspired by @modernglamhome.

Materials

  • Glue gun

  • Tree branch

  • Brown paper bags

  • Twine

I found my tree branch outside in nature! Make sure to shake off any dirt or bugs remaining before bringing it into your home. Faux branches work just as well too.

Step 1

Draw and cut out leaves on a stack of paper bags. This can be any shape and size to be more realistic.

Step 2

Crumble the paper leaves then fold it vertically in half.

Step 3

Place a line of glue in the middle of the fold area and attach to the tree branch. Repeat this step with all your paper leaves mimicking natural growing leaves.

Step 4

Carefully install it over your dining table as a floating centrepiece using the twine. I attached it to my hanging lights.

And voila! Enjoy your beautiful floating centrepiece for Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving friends!

Love,

W
